Merkanooka Haulage owner James Yewers has lived on the land all his life, cutting his teeth hauling agricultural products to and from his family’s farm from a young age. That kind of veteran industry experience is hard to come by, and it’s enabled James to build a team of highly qualified drivers who transport all manner of agricultural products.
James offered this service to third party clients more than 10 years ago. Mainly seasonal work, the team haul wheat, canola, barley, lupins and oats from October through to January each year. From early February to April, our drivers begin to transport lime sand and fertilisers from suppliers in Perth and Geraldton back to our clients’ farms for the next season’s crops.

Of course, there are several accreditations necessary to transport these kinds of products, and all our staff are highly qualified. Drivers need Multi Combination (MC) licence as well as a commercial vehicles driver’s medical, not to mention considerable experience in grain freight. Merkanooka Haulage is also Main Roads Accredited under the Mass Management AMMS 3 scheme in WA, which offers our clients the highest level of confidence in our ability to complete the job properly, and on time.
