Bulk Haulage

Merkanooka Haulage has an enviable track record when it comes to bulk haulage operations at mine sites. Operating at both iron ore and gold mines, we seamlessly transport ROM material from the pit to the processing facility using highly specialised equipment.

Our Komatsu WA600-6 loaders are renowned within the industry for their heavy-duty capability and stamina. We partner these loaders with Kenworth C509, C510 and T909 prime movers with Boomerang side tippers for ultimate efficiency on site. Because each mine has different requirements, our substantial fleet also includes side tippers in triple and quad configuration with a payload of up to 200 tonnes.

Our on-site team includes highly skilled supervisors, loaders and operators who get the job done right. Personnel also includes water cart and grader operators, who operate their machinery to the highest level to ensure the roads used by our heavy-duty trucks remain corrugation-free. All drivers have an MC licence, police clearance and have passed a commercial vehicle driver’s medical. Rest assured, Merkanooka is a responsible employer as well as a reputable service provider.

Crusher Feed

Our efficient and productive crusher feed services are the envy of the industry, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

On site at Dacian Gold’s Mt Morgan operation we have two loaders constantly sorting oversize cargo and feeding the crusher within the processing plant. This service requires attention to detail and timeliness above all, and Merkanooka’s highly qualified team are more than up to the task.

A slowdown in the crusher process has the ability to delay the mine’s entire operation, so we understand it is vital to have a team on board who can handle any issue.
Merkanooka Haulage excel in this area due to our firm understanding of the importance of combining highly skilled operators, a quick-thinking and decisive site supervisor and industry-leading equipment.

Each of our drivers hold a High Rigid licence for all crusher feed work, and our tough Komatsu WA600-6 and Komatsu WA600-8 loaders are proven workhorses within the mining sector.

Site Services

It’s imperative that our bulk haulage and our crusher feed operations run smoothly at each site to avoid costly delays in the mine’s day-to-day operations. To ensure this, Merkanooka Haulage operates a site services function manned by experienced crew and supported by a range of heavy duty equipment.

Graders and double water carts with capacities ranging from 60,000L to 120,000L operate constantly to smooth the roads between the pit and processing facilities, which can become corrugated due to constant heavy vehicle use. The water carts offer maximum dust suppression to maintain the integrity of the roads.

Staff include boilermakers and heavy duty diesel mechanics who operate within a self-sufficient dome workshop to keep our loaders and prime movers up and running without any need for equipment to be transported offsite for repair, avoiding costly delays. We also station a service truck on site to act as a mobile repair shop should the need for it arise.

Our highly trained staff are to be autonomous, innovative and able to problem-solve almost any situation within an on-site mining environment.
